RHCP reschedule US Tour Dates due to Kiedis foot injury

Red Hot Chili Peppers regret to announce that they must postpone the start of their upcoming U.S. tour due to multiple foot injuries sustained by Anthony Kiedis. Anthony recently underwent surgery to remove a crushed sesamoid bone and correct a detached flexor tendon in his foot and is expected to make a full recovery.

Makes sense. Anthony is in crutches so he won't heal by the time for the show.

But... Then how can they put out an album summer 2013?

There are ways to record an album while being on tour. Many bands did that. Or at least write some songs.

John wrote some amazing songs on tour and while recording another album, so I think it wouldn't be hard to do the two in the same context. Besides, touring gives them time to jam so if they really like one jam they can make it a song.

And, the band said they were saving IWY material for the next album, that's why there aren't any b-sides

Edit: I'm guessing the postponed dates mean that later the band will have to travel alot to accommodate both the US and Europe tours.

So are these the correct tour dates...

If yes, does anybody else sense they are now a very strong possibility for lollapalooza?

Wow. I was afraid of this when I saw those pics from the Lakers game. I'm grateful Priceline is giving me a full refund for my hotel room in Memphis. I don't know if I'll go to the rescheduled show or sell my tickets--the whole purpose of the trip was to celebrate my friend's 30th birthday with our favorite band of all time. I planned on flying home for the Philly and NY shows, but who knows when the hell they'll make it to the northeast at this point. This is a sad day. I hope he makes a full recovery.

Can you sell it? If so, then wait a bit and you should be able to sell it for a higher price...

Oh lawd. I bought tickets off StubHub that aren't in my name for the Tampa show. This rescheduling business shouldn't keep me from going, right...? They'll just honor tickets purchased for the January 23 date at the door?

Ah hum

Here's to AK making a speedy and smooth recovery, but damn!

That's right, they'll just honor the original tickets at the new date, name on tickets isn't important.

This really sucks because my area of DC/Maryland still doesn't have a show scheduled. Looks like it might now be late 2012 or sometime in 2013.

This tour is starting to look slightly like OHM...which is sort of eerie.

- U.S. tour launch postponed due to broken body part
- Motorcycle tickets instead of accidents
- Anthony suffering through foot injury instead of arm injury
- Album sales very low especially compaired to previous critically acclaimed/award winning album
- Fans wanting John back instead of Dave/Josh

KEEP AK AWAY FROM THE PAINKILLERS!!!!
