Interview with Josh Klinghoffer in Guitar World.
Nice new interview, covers lots and it's real good
New Josh Klinghoffer interview in the October issue of Guitar World Magazine.
"Who really mattered to you when you started playing?
Naturally, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page kind of playing on the one hand. And then Johnny Marr, Robert Smith and people like that. John Frusicante is one of my favorites. I just figured out anything and everything I could. Punk, Sex Pistols, Germs. When I was younger, I went back to that stuff. I was always more of a chordal, textural kind of textury player."

cool stuff getting a bit of the interview.......no way that's the whole thing considering he's the cover story. Here's to hoping he goes in depth talking about certain songs. Interesting the whole "soloing doesn't come naturally" thing, but I guess I kinda already recognized that. Cool to see him really throwing himself into all this. _________________ Who would win in a fight, Ditka or God?

Josh's influence sound like John's influences. Zappa and Captain Beefhart are missing though. _________________ Confusion is my middle name

thats exactly how i feel.
That's funny. I feel the same way. I was never much into soloing, my fingers seem incapable. But in every band I've played in, it's been more about creating cool sound, less about being technical.

I do hope he does
some
soloing though, but if that's just not his style I'm cool with that
So far his solos have been awesome though _________________ "And we're making an amazing, amazing, ground breaking, revolutionary, beautiful, artistically heightened, incredible record." John Frusciante
