New Josh Klinghoffer interview in the October issue of Guitar World Magazine.



"Who really mattered to you when you started playing?

Naturally, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page kind of playing on the one hand. And then Johnny Marr, Robert Smith and people like that. John Frusicante is one of my favorites. I just figured out anything and everything I could. Punk, Sex Pistols, Germs. When I was younger, I went back to that stuff. I was always more of a chordal, textural kind of textury player."

cool stuff getting a bit of the interview.......no way that's the whole thing considering he's the cover story. Here's to hoping he goes in depth talking about certain songs. Interesting the whole "soloing doesn't come naturally" thing, but I guess I kinda already recognized that. Cool to see him really throwing himself into all this.

Thanks for the interview, nice to have some words from Josh that weren't planted by either Flea or AK.

I like soloing but in a Clapton/Frusciante kind of way. Slower, sustained notes and not doing widdly shit all over the fretboard. Take solos in "Scar Tissue" and the Slane version of "Power of Equality". Simple but testicle-rippingly effective.
