i don't think i could ever pick an all-time favorite chili pepper album, but there are certain moods where this album really hits me. i'm all for cannonizing hillel.

This is definitely my favourite pre-Blood Sugar.

Almost all the songs on it are insanely catchy and fun to play. Hillel was great, I think that's undeniable.

One of my favourites, but as alehi says, a lot depends on your mood at the time.

I particularly like the covers on this album.

My fave album definitely. The only one that comes close to this is BSSM.

It's not my favourite, but I was just listening to it the other day and it's pretty amazing, I think people should listen to it before they dismiss early RHCP

I didn't realise how great this album is until I saw the gig live at Rockpalast 1985 in germany; it's such great songs, so funky and simply freaky styley! :D
in my opinion BSSM will always be their best record but Freaky Styley comes close!

But that's only two tracks so it doesn't bother me, I always wonder why those two tracks didn't get on the first album, did Jack/Andy not like them, or did AK and Flea not want to play them with Jack instead of Hillel, or any other reasons
