The Red Hot Chili Peppers pose with their custom illustrated Longboards (a longer variant of a skateboard) during their press run in Sydney, Australia on January 18th, 2013. The band were each presented with a Longboard by Warner Music Australia in recognition of over 3 million record sales in the country.
Posca Artist Caspian de Looze was commissioned by Warner Music’s Australian division to design the four longboards for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The boards feature design elements from the I’m With You album cover (designed by Damien Hirst) and the I’m With You B-Sides cover artwork (designed by Kelsey Brookes).
Sydney based videographer Bryan Dalli filmed Caspian over three days as he illustrated each of the boards. Check out the design process below…

It took a lot of hard work but I finally finished those boards with the help of artist/tattooist buddy Stuart Blake who tattoos out of Dee Why tattoo.
I myself tattoo out of manly Tattoo.
The band were a great bunch of guys who showed alot of restraint while being asked some truly moronic question by the press gallery at the Sydney press conference.
It’s an honour to have worked for these guys and who knows what the future will bring.
Don’t go changing RHCP, you guys rock.
Cheers
Caspian
